This Sunday’s Order of Service

On this Sunday, folks of all ages are invited to bring a flower, or a few flowers, from your garden or the wayside to add to our collective bouquet.  With Rev. Elaine Bomford, we observe this historic Unitarian Universalist ritual celebrating diversity and courage.

The Flower ceremony, an affirmation of diversity and unity, is a tradition begun by the prophetic Unitarian, Rev. Norbert Capek. Through stories and inspirational words from the book “Granny D:  Walking Across America in My 90th Year,” we hear from Doris Haddock of Dublin, New Hampshire — “a retired shoe-factory worker and great-grandmother of twelve” who gardened, hooked rugs, organized, wrote letters, planned, trained and walked across the country in support of campaign finance reform.
